Darren Lerner
As head of the Black Mountain Research Center, he is eager to exploit the assets recently acquired from the bankruptcy of Land Beam Development Holdings. Can he draw the attention of Kess, the recent addition to the BMRC board?

Adriaan Stander
Now head researcher for Black Mountain, he was included in the assets from Land Beam and hopes to continue the research he started. But he is under pressure to deliver merchandisable results.

Teal Parsons
From McKinley High School counselor to director of research under Stander, he wants to use the Black Mountain research findings to make a positive impact on society, but has grown disillusioned with Lerner's 'profit-first' approach. How far will he go?

Kestrel Wolfe
Representing the Ascent Equity Group on the Black Mountain board of directors, she presses Lerner and Stander to become profitable or succumb to the market pressures. All while fending off advances from Lerner and Parsons.

Julia Winger
She has always wanted to 'save the world,' and now that Scottie is old enough to ride the bus to school, she finds herself with more free time. After reuniting with Nancy, she joins Black Mountain as a part-time researcher and learns more than she bargained for.

Kevin Winger
After leaving high school and Weatherville, he became a doctor and re-discovered his high school sweetheart, Julia, now a trained nurse. He focuses on his own practice now as he struggles to understand her inexplicable 'energy abilities.'

Scott Winger
At seven years old, he has inherited his positive and supportive outlook from his mother. He is always eager to help, and loves his new 'cousins' Isabel and Almeda.

Sarita Canmore
Married to Steven, her high school sweetheart, she spend her free time as an environmental activist. But with two rambunctious little girls, she hopes to settle down now.

Steven Canmore
Building on their common interest in environmental issues, he became a lawyer. He recently joined the Earthwatch Foundation, a non-profit specializing in investigating and prosecuting cases related to pollution, climate change, and natural resource management.

Isabel Canmore
Eight year old daughter to Steve and Sarita, she is the older and more serious sibling.

Almeda Canmore
Three year old younger sister to Isabel, she loves ice cream, but it doesn't love her so much.

Brian Byrne
His professional career took a back seat to his desire to help people, leading him to take the Director of Fundraising role at a local chain of children's homes. He also pastor's a small community church.

Nancy Byrne
She loves children, though she cannot have any of her own, and struggles with feelings of inadequacy as a 'Pastor's Wife.'
She works as a researcher at Black Mountain to help pay the bills.

Adam Brodi
An investigative reporter, he travels the world tracking down interesting stories, including conspiracies related to Land Beam and Black Mountain.
His marriage with the temperamental Mallory after high school fell apart when their daughter, Olivia, fell ill to a genetic condition.
